Seve Ballesteros is widely regarded as one of the greatest Continental golfers of all time. Hailing from a family of talented golfers, Ballesteros was always set for success, but his achievements outstripped even the highest of expectations.
Marking his ingång to international golf by achieving second place in the 1976 Open Championship at just 19 years of age (and tying with other golfing legend Jack Nicklaus), Ballesteros went on to win five major championships, and became a mainstay of professional golf throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
Persistent back injuries unfortunately curtailed his impressive career, as he never re-found the form of his best years, and he sadly died of brain cancer in 2011.

Every day I wish my dad was still here and we could do things together, like practice and enjoy life.
He won five majors, helped Europe to five Ryder Cups and has a record 50 victories on the European Tour, but I can tell you he was a much better dad than he was a golfer, so he was pretty good!
I can't remember the exact age when I knew who my dad was in the world of golf, he was just my dad to me, but I always säga I wish I could have seen his victories live - I wish I could have been at St Andrews when he won the Open Championship in 1984 or at Royal Lytham in 1988.
