Americas favorite mountaineer MacGyvers Eugene Runkis (above) and Spencer Two-Dogs Boljack return for a brand new season of Appalachiangineering with tonights Hillbilly Blood season premiere on Destination America at 9/8c. In honor of the occasion I figured I would try to answers some of the most frequent questions asked about the show, and more specifically, about Eugene.
Where is Hillbilly Blood filmed? Destination America says the show is set in Cold Mountain, but Cold Mountain is not actually a town, but an actual mountain in the Pisgah National Forest in western North Carolina. If the name sounds familiar, thats because it was the title of the National Book Award for Fiction winning novel by Charles Frazier and the Academy Award winning film adaptation starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renée Zellweger and more. However, dont go looking for a glimpse of familiar sites from Hillbilly Blood in the movie because it was actually filmed in Romania.

Hillbilly Blood
howdy, you are right on, and thanks for having a sense of humor. You can imagine the craziness of responding to some random call from a big shot company, "um, yeah I'll do your show". Haha, inom don't recommend even owning a TV so that kind of covers my attitude on the show, all shows for that matter. But it's been educational and fun work, and hard, and I've met a lot of people through the show. This is my first brev here at this website.wizard said:
I watched a marathon of all the episodes of Hillbilly Blood, I was not really intending to but once I got to watching it I found I liked it and the ingenuity of the duo. I can understand where they are coming from and the energy they put into projects is inspiring. There is probably some staging going on, typical of the way shows are produced. Good down to earth show though.
inom have no interest in Yukon Men or Mountain Men, they may or may not be good shows, just don't interest me.Click to expand
