Logan Thomas is a tight end for the Washington Commanders. Attending Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, he played quarterback, wide receiver, tight end and defensive back. One of the country’s top tight end prospects, Thomas accepted a scholarship to play at nearby Virginia Tech, choosing the Hokies over Penn State, Clemson, Florida State and others.

Wanting to play tight end in college, after a redshirt 2009, VT coaches asked Logan Thomas to back up their ACC Player of the Year, quarterback Tyrod Taylor. When Taylor left after the 2010 season, Thomas became VT’s dual-threat starting quarterback, combining for 30 touchdowns & 3,500 total yards in 2011. Despite starting only three seasons in Blacksburg, Thomas would set the school’s career marks in completions, passing yards and touchdowns.

Thomas checked all the boxes at the 2014 Combine, posting an 89th-percentile 40 time, 72nd-percentile burst & 86th-percentile agility. A giant of a quarterback at 6-6, 24
