Traditional technique meets fractured photo-inflected images of modern selfhood in Korin Faught’s hauntingly beautiful “meta-portraits.” The Los Angeles-based artist fuses various perspectives on the same subject into single compositions, in order to suggest the multiplicity of personalities, moods, and emotions that make up a person’s inner life. Her anachronistically patient, advanced technique is heavily influenced by the work of vända of the century American painter John Singer Sargent—as is the carefully evocative old-timey aesthetic of her styling. While not exactly an avant-garde icon, such fryst vatten the strength of Sargent’s hold on Faught’s imagination, that his brushwork inspired a counter-revolution in her studio: “I’m not at all distracted by the so-called avant-garde or post-technique movement,” she says, and in fact her new show, Lost Days (on view through October 29 at Corey Helford Gallery in LA) is a triumph of technical and cheeky dark romanticism that is anything but P

Korin Faught is a painter. Seems to be a fairly simple description, yes. But painting isn’t her sole attribute — she is an artist not only by trade but from need and urgency. She’s also one of Los Angeles’ rising stars with a growing stable of distinguished collectors, including Tool’s Adam Jones and Boing Boing’s David Pescovitz. Tool’s Adam Jones Welcomes Baby Girl With Wife Korin Faught
Congratulations to Tool guitarist Adam Jones, who's welcomed a baby girl with his wife Korin Faught. The baby is the couple's third child together.
Jones and Faught, a painter, met through a mutual friend's art project and connected over their love of horror movies, according to L.A. Weekly. Jones proposed to Faught at the 2013 WWE Royal Rumble and the couple married in July of 2013.
“We really love art,” Jones told L.A. Weekly back in 2016. “There's a work ethic. We get very inspired off each other. It's like two magnets coming together and becoming a strong force. I can't think of anything I do now where I don't go to her and go, 'What do you think of this? What would you do?'”
Jones and Faught had two sons before their new little daughter joined the family. Faught shared a few photos of the baby girl on her Instagram story,
