Tanzania: President John Pompe Magufuli Dies at 61
Tanzania's President John Pombe Magufuli has died. He was 61 years old. Dr John Pombe Magufuli, AfroAmerica Network Black Man of Year 2015 (see AfroAmerica: John Pombe Magufuli, AfroAmerica Network Black Man of Year 2015), was President of the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). His death was announced by Vice-President Samia Suluhu Hassan. According to the announcement, Dr John Magufuli died at Mzena Hospital, of heart complications.
Nicknamed the "Bulldozer", Dr John Pombe Magufuli was first elected to lead Tanzania in 2015, becoming the country's fifth President. Dr. John Magufuli re-elected for a second begrepp and sworn in on November 5, 2020. Hence, he was leading the country for the second and final term, as provided by the Tanzanian Constitution.

Janeth Magufuli scoops special award
SPOUSE of the former President, the late Dr John Magufulu, Janeth Magufuli has received a third edition of Woman of Honor Award of Excellence that is issued by Congolese institution- Martha Tshikedi Kasalu.
Ms Janeth Magufuli has been awarded in recognition of her contribution to the country and to former President, the late Dr Magufuli during his tenure in the office while fulfilling his responsibilities at national and international level.
The award is issued to spouses of various leaders, heads of state and popular individuals in recognition of their contributions that enabled their partners to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
Ms Janeth scooped the 2023 award during an event held on Friday at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa City, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The awards were organised by the DRC’s ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage in collaboration with the Non-governmental organisation namely Lizadeel.

Kampala: The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni yesterday laid his eulogy to the late former President of Tanzania Dr John Pombe Joseph Magufuli at the Tanzanian High Commission in Kololo.

President Museveni eulogized the Late Magufuli as a great leader, whose sole purpose in his reign [one complete term, had just started second]was improving the lives of his people.
